Every family has their own set of values. Some things that are important to one family may not be quite as important to another family. Nothing demonstrates the differences that can arise in people’s ideologies like an election. We see people lining up on one side or the other, agreeing with one candidate’s philosophy and rejecting the other candidate’s positions. It is up to us to discover what we truly believe and guide our children in that belief. Here is a list of values that I want my children to understand and live.
- Education is vital!
- Be polite.
- Be honest in all things.
- Treat each person with dignity and respect.
- Never stop asking questions.
- Understanding that there are consequences for your actions.
- Believe in yourself – you are a force to be reckoned with!
- Compassion for those less fortunate.
- Always search for truth and meaning.
- Family should always stick together.
What would your family add to this list?
