Today is my husband’s birthday. It just so happens that I was born 2 days before him, so we have had 14 years of him feeling like I was stepping on his thunder and me feeling like I was just the warm up for his big day. Oh well. Then, of course, he likes to gloat that I am the “older” one. Hmph! But with age comes wisdom. Here are a few things I would like him to glean from the benefit of my advanced hours.
- Girls like K.T. Tunstall, Norah Jones, Shawn Colvin, and Bonnie Raitt make awesome music!
- Tears during a movie is a GOOD thing.
- Just because someone has had a lot more practice at board/card games, that does NOT mean they are cheating!
- The internet was made for socializing.
- Ketchup only serves to cover up the real taste of the food.
- Laughter really is the best medicine, which is why I always feel so good around you!
- It’s “Blowing through the JASMINE of my mind”.
- Little girls are women in training.
- Men are little boys in training.
- Women LOVE to reward men who pay them compliments.
Happy Birthday, Babe! I don’t know how you do it, but you are more handsome every year! I love you!!
