list of theme night ideas for weekly family fun

My children and I love routine. They get excited about the things that we repeat week after week. When school started this year, we started Pizza and Movie Night on Fridays. It is something we look forward to all through the week. Because it has been so successful, I have given a lot of thought to adding more theme nights to our weekly routine. Here is a list of ideas that I have either tried or intend to try in the future.

  1. Sunday – Soup Sunday, Shopping Sunday
  2. Monday – Mundo Monday (pick a spot in the world to research and learn about), Music Monday
  3. Tuesday – Game Night, Tasty Tuesday (bake brownies or make banana splits)
  4. Wednesday – Workin’ Wednesday (for mid-week family chores), Walking Wednesday
  5. Thursday – Thoughtful Thursday, Arts & Crafts Thursday
  6. Friday – Flick Friday, Finances Friday,
  7. Saturday – ‘Sitter Saturday, Special Event Saturday

Our children know what “Thirsty Thursday” means at the ball park. Drinks are half off!

This is a great idea. I’m the new NY Family and Parenting Examiner on Examiner.com. Do you mind if I link back to you in an upcoming article I’m writing? I’ll be sure to notify you with a link to it, if you’re interested. Thanks!

It’s funny but I particpate in themes or memes for my blog but haven’t started doing it at home. I think it’s a great idea.
