Menu planning can be so overwhelming, but if you’ll take just a few minutes to record your family’s meal choices, you eliminate the frustration of what to cook. If you list your foods by category, you’ll be able to design your menu by main ingredient/food type.

Menu planning is something that I am sorely lacking at. I really do much better when I have everything that I need on hand instead of fretting about it all day. Good ideas!
Thanks for commenting on my blog.
I love this site. I make lists all the time!
Hi Jen ~
Thanks for leaving a comment and visiting my blog :D
I LOVE lists — and I always have big organization plans… but tend to fall way short on my follow through.
I currently have a number of cookbooks, notes, recipes etc… on my dining table with the intent to put meal ideas & needed recipes in an old 4×7 photo album. I love your category idea!
Nice to meet you and love your blog!
Carrie
ooh tough one- since i don’t do most of the cooking but I do all of the collecting of recipes…
I usually group them as
everyday breakfast
everyday lunch
everyday dinner
everyday snacks
entertaining/special brunch
entertaining/special dinners
Entertaining snacks
on the grill
baking
I would say one of our favorite food categories would be Mexican, followed closely by Italian. In fact, if we have a preference of where to go out for dinner, quite often we’ll head to our favorite Mexican Restaurant, San Pedro’s. Yum!
