Baking soda is an all-natural ingredient, and with today’s rising cost of groceries and supplies, a great tool to stock up on. Here is a list of just a few things you can do with a box of baking soda:
- Neutralizes odor in your refrigerator or closet
- Makes a mild scouring powder with a little water
- Deodorizes laundry and shoes
- Deodorizes body (underarms, etc.)
- Cleans teeth, freshens breath
- Cleanses and unclogs drains
- Keeps ants away when mixed with equal parts salt
- Smothers a fire
- Relieves itching from poison ivy and bug bites when added to bathwater
- Makes a great oven cleaner when mixed with water to form a paste
Of course, my favorite use for baking soda is in a delicious batch of cookies. I’m off to use some of that baking soda now!
