We will not be visiting family, nor will we be having company for the holiday, but that does not mean I want it to be any less special or memorable for my family. Each year, I am getting more and more satisfaction out of the reactions of my children on a holiday that centers around rather grown-up food. Last Thanksgiving, I felt so glad that they were finally eating (or willingly trying) all of the traditional foods that compose my family memories. Here are the things that will be found on our Thanksgiving table this year.
What’s on your menu for Thanksgiving?
Interested in the stuffing recipe as well…my wife makes a greenbean casarole with those dried onion straws and cream of mushroom soup–not my personal favorite but family seems to consider it a holiday staple. Glad to see that you make the cranbrry salad, she makes that stuff too – nuts, marshmallows, cranberries, apples, whipped cream and sugar….it’s very sweet but tasty.
I usually do the turkey and I like to brine it with salt (of course), apple and cranberry juice, lemon-lime soda and herbs and spices.

Sounds like a feast!
Well I’m not the only one – slow cooker stuffing, please!
Oooh… I’d love that stuffing recipe, too!
This year it’s Indian food all the way. Our second baby is due right around that time, so we’re just going out to dinner with friends and taking it easy.
Slow Cooker stuffing???? yum….care to share the recipe?? :O)
We always go to my mom’s or grandma’s house for the “official” Thanksgiving meal, but luckily that’s just across town for us. We still make our own Thanksgiving meal the following day, because we want the benefits of all that yummy turkey and our favorite traditional holiday sides. We also got our turkey this year for $0.69, what a deal!
We will be making Turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, Rachel Rays stuffin muffins (would love your slow cooker recipe, if you’re willing!) rolls, brussel sprouts w/ bacon and my Dad’s famous twist on pumpkin pie for dessert. YUM!
