If you caught my last post, you probably noticed that my baby boy has been under the weather this week, but I am happy to report that he has recovered just in time for his 6th birthday today! I have started working out of the home recently and so this has been the first birthday where I’ve had to juggle the bus stop, preschool, daycare, work, buying presents, and ingredients for a homemade cake. All I can say is “Whew!” I don’t know what moms did before the internet. These are some of the links that I have used to make this day as special as my son!
- ListPlanIt – I used Birthday Planning pages, Target Shopping List, Menu Planner, and referred often to my Gifts Fund to keep track of my spending on presents.
- Dirt Cups – This treat is perfect for Clark’s personality. He loves to dig around in the dirt to find worms or snakes or bugs or any kind of creature.
- Rainbow Cake – I found the coolest recipe for a colorful cake. I can’t wait for Clark to cut into it.
- The Spiderwick Chronicles Movie – This is one of the few things he asked for. We got the books last Christmas and have read through them twice.
- Potions – Clark LOVES making “potions”. He frequently asks for (seldom gets) vinegar, food coloring, and baking soda for his concoctions. He is getting a big book of science experiments along with many of the ingredients on this potions page.
- Chuck E. Cheese – Who can beat pizza, games, a “live” performance, and friends/family all for under $50!
- 1st Sleepover -He is inviting a little boy from his Kindergarten class to go to Chuck E. Cheese with us and then sleep over afterward. Clark has been waiting for this ever since his older sister had a friend sleep over a couple of years ago. He is so excited!
Happy 6th Birthday, Clark! I hope your special day is everything you had hoped for and more!!

Like always, thanks for the useful links. I'll remember this when it's my son's birthday. Except maybe the cake baking myself. I'll probably buy one since I cannot bake.
My son turned 6 yesterday! You should totally check out how similar we blogged about their day! We didn't have a party but he will never forget that day...
