list of my favorite homemade cookies

I have definitely inherited my dad’s sweet tooth. A meal is not finished for me until I have had something sweet to top it off. One of my most favorite “specials” (as my family likes to call dessert) is homemade cookies. Here are some of my favorites:

  1. Monster Cookies (Oatmeal and peanut butter means this one is healthy enough for breakfasts at my house – sorry this is my own recipe)
  2. Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies
  3. Snickerdoodles
  4. Peanut Butter Blossoms
  5. Sugar Cookies with Butter Icing
  6. Pumpkin Cookies
  7. Butterscotch Gingerbread Cookies
  8. Fruit Pizza (I’m not going to feel one bit bad for lumping this in cookies – it is made with a giant cookie crust)
  9. Peanut Butter Carrot Cookies (this may sound strange, but they are delicious and have some health value – again, can be breakfast)
  10. Royal Coconut Cookies

I use allrecipes.com all the time! As you can see, I have left Chocolate Chip Cookies off my list. I have always LOVED chocolate chip cookies, but I can not find any recipes that I like that don’t include shortening. I cannot bring myself to put shortening in anything anymore, but choc. chip cookies that just use butter seem a little too crispy for me. I like my cookies to be gooey!

  • Try the chocolate chip cookies after refrigerating the dough. Make sure the butter's just softened, not melted. Usually chilling the dough keeps the cookies from spreading thin, meaning you get a thicker, chewier cookie. GOod luck!

  • I'm a sucker for a good homemade cookie! I'm going to have to try them all! I'd love to try the Monster Cookie...

  • My all time favorite cookies are the peanut butter cookies with a chocolate kiss in the middle!!!

  • Even if it wasn't snack time, I'd be hungry now. =)

    The Butterscotch Ginger sound amazing!
