My mom used to have a clothesline. I remember the way the clothes smelled. In all of my lodgings, I always looked for opportunities to have a clothesline. In fact, I’ve had nothing but a clothesline to dry my clothes in a couple of places. My home in Maine has the most perfect place to hang my family’s clothing. . . right in between 2 trees.

1. I love hanging my clothes out first thing in the morning. The birds are singing and it is so peaceful.
2. I keep a better laundry schedule because I must hang laundry at certain times of the day or the clothes will not dry.
3. It gets me outside and away from my computer.
4. Have I mentioned the smell of the clothes after hanging outside?
5. I am preserving my clothes.
6. I am conserving energy.
7. I am saving money (by conserving energy).
8. My 6-year-old is learning to fold clothes by standing next to me and following my lead as we take clothes off the line.
9. I love my Maine yard. I grew up in Kansas so I am still in complete awe of these trees!
10. It makes me feel so good. I suppose this reason is just from a combination of all of the other reasons, but a reason like this should not be overlooked.
