I love recipes that have been generated from a relative. I have several of those. I treasure them and will make sure that each time I make something, I let my family know that “This is Grammy’s Yams & Apples recipe” or “What do you think of Aunt Vicki’s Cranberry Salad?” However, I also have a need to create my own family food traditions. While I will insist on using my Grandma’s pecan pie recipe, I have ventured out on dishes such as Slow Cooker Stuffing, Blueberry Cranberry Sauce, and Whipped Sweet Potatoes and Pears. I have mostly found the dishes that will likely be a part of my children’s Thanksgiving traditions (as long as they live under my roof), but does anyone have a good vegetable dish that’s not coated in cheese or cream soup? Just curious. Here are some great places to go searching for your own family food traditions for your Thanksgiving meal.
