With school starting soon and summer vacation in its final phase, it is time get serious about preparing yourself and your child for back to school. Whether your child is beginning his first year of Kindergarten or his Senior year, there are a few things that must be done before the first big day.

- Make an appointment for a physical exam and ask about any shots that are due.
- Check the school supply list and start looking for the best prices on the items you need.
- Write down all back to school events (such as ice cream social, open house, etc) down on your calendar.
- Inventory your child’s school clothing.
- Make your school lunch plan: hot lunch or lunch from home?
- Set up a homework station complete with the necessary supplies (pencils, paper, etc.).
- Begin to adjust children’s schedules to fit those of a school day: earlier bedtimes, earlier waketimes.
