Happy Fall! Although this is the time of the year when it is so enjoyable to be outdoors, it is also a great time to clean house in anticipation of holiday entertaining and winter. Devote some time now to cleaning/organizing your home and/or yard and you will thank yourself later this winter.
- Clean out your kitchen cabinets
• You will find all sorts of things you forgot you even had
• If you find yourself stuffing them into the back of the cabinet, maybe its time to get rid of them. - Organize your laundry closet
• Throw out expired medications.
• Try using up all those small hotel shampoos you are saving. - Wipe down the floor boards
- Pull out furniture from the wall and clean behind them
• Don’t forget the refrigerator. - Scrub the front porch and the railings
• Now you are ready for those trick-or-treaters! - Do the change of season clothing swap for everyone in your family
• Put away the shorts and tank tops. Make room for jeans and sweaters. - Store the beach bag
• Wash all beach towels and swimsuits. - Pull out the boots and snow suits
• Have children try them on to see what still fits and what still needs to be purchased. - Organize each toy closet/room
• Consider donating things your family doesn’t play with anymore. - Organize the storage room/area(s)
• Locate your fall and winter holiday items.
• Separate your unused/unwanted items and make a run to the thrift store. - Replace the batteries in the smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
How will you clean your home this Fall?
