Friday, September 23rd, is the first day of autumn. The ushering in of a new season can be an exciting time and there are numerous ways your family can celebrate.

- Go for a fall nature hike
• Make note of the signs of change (leaves changing color, fallen acorns, cooler breezes, etc). - Make a handprint wreath
• Using autumn colored construction paper (red, orange, yellow and brown) trace handprints and glue in a wreath shape. - Apple Picking
• Then go home and make something yummy with the apples (apple sauce, pie, fritters, bread). - Crunch in the leaves
• Better yet, rake a huge pile to jump into! - Fall Cleaning
• Set aside a block of time to neatly fold up your cleaned beach towels, pack up the pool toys and put away summer clothes. - Watch a new show
• Tis the season for season premieres to start…try something new! - Go to a pumpkin patch
- Make a scarecrow for your front yard
• Take some old clothes and stuff with newspaper (or straw), add a mask and hat and find a place for your new friend to sit or stand in your yard. - Visit a corn maze
- Enjoy a hay ride
- Get out the fall decor
