Sunday, September 7, is Grandparent’s Day! Though I suspect it is the latest attempt of our consumer-driven society to commercialize on the respect and love owed to grandparents, it IS nice to get a great, big reminder of how much our grandparents mean to us. If you haven’t run out to buy something nice for Grandma or Grandpa, never fear! Here is a list of things to help you show your appreciation for the grandparents in your life.
- A telephone call
- A homemade card or letter
- A tribute in the hometown newspaper
- A blog post (from fellow bloggers)
- A bouquet of flowers from your garden
- A homemade cake or pie
- A family dinner, whether in your home or in a restaurant
- Some new stationery
- A photo book or album filled with photo memories
- A day spent together

awwwww! I didn't know. That is so cool....off to do a post right now!
Fantastic ideas for thoughtful gifts!
I also love the idea of giving a special book that grandkids and grandparents can share. Here are some that I reviewed and posted about:

For some reason, I don't feel as much like I'm giving into "frivolous" commercialism when a book (especially one honoring GPs) is the gift. :-)
