Today is my husband’s birthday. It just so happens that I was born 2 days before him, so we have had 14 years of him feeling like I was stepping on his thunder and me feeling like I was just the warm up for his big day. Oh well. Then, of course, he likes to gloat that I am the “older” one. Hmph! But with age comes wisdom. Here are a few things I would like him to glean from the benefit of my advanced hours.

1. Girls like K.T. Tunstall, Norah Jones, Shawn Colvin, and Bonnie Raitt make awesome music!
2. Tears during a movie is a GOOD thing.
3. Just because someone has had a lot more practice at board/card games, that does NOT mean they are cheating!
4. The internet was made for socializing.
5. Ketchup only serves to cover up the real taste of the food.
6. Laughter really is the best medicine, which is why I always feel so good around you!
7. It’s “Blowing through the JASMINE of my mind”.
8. Little girls are women in training.
9. Men are little boys in training.
10. Women LOVE to reward men who pay them compliments.

Happy Birthday, Babe! I don’t know how you do it, but you are more handsome every year! I love you!!
