I don’t’ know about you but when I was younger, I loved opening up my stocking presents. Sure, I couldn’t wait to open the biggest box under the tree, but there was something about the stocking. Maybe it was because my sister was 6 years older than me and slept in late. My parents wouldn’t let me open any presents until she came downstairs. But there was one exception: I could open my stocking.
My mom had traditions with the stocking. There was always (and still is) a Lifesaver Storybook, Russell Stover Chocolates, and Avon Chapsticks and Hand Lotion. But she always found some little trinkets that I would love long after the Christmas decorations were down.
